Women and Health Care Reform Community Dialogue:The Future is TODAY

Dear Friend,

We would like to invite you to our second annual, Women and Health Reform Dialogue which will take place September 1st, 2011 from 7:30am to 12:30pm at the California Endowment in Downtown Los Angeles. This event is hosted by the Los Angeles County Coalition for Women and Health Reform. The coalition works to ensure that women’s health is recognized prioritized and protected as our region begins to implement health care reform.

Last year, over 300 women’s health providers, stakeholders and advocates gathered to discuss the unique challenges women face in the context of the Affordable Care Act. This year’s theme: The Future is Today speaks to the sense of urgency that stakeholders, providers and advocates must have when it comes to ensuring that women’s health is prioritized as we head into 2014 when the key provisions of the Affordable Care Act go into effect.

This interactive dialogue will feature key stakeholders in health reform from the various levels of implementation including:

  • Dr. Mitch Katz, Director of LA County Department of Health Services
  • Secretary Diana S. Dooley, State of California Health and Human Services Agency

The Los Angeles Coalition for Women and Health Reform works to ensure that women’s health is recognized, prioritized and protected as our region begins to implement health care reform. The group is composed of a diverse coalition of experts on the topic of reproductive and women’s health both as providers and advocates.
