A new survey shows one in six employers favor a federally funded universal healthcare system. The annual survey, conducted United Benefit Advisors, also found that nearly three-quarters of employers surveyed want the federal government to require hospitals and physicians to disclose cost and quality healthcare information. Nearly all (99.4 percent) of top decision-makers are concerned with the impact of healthcare costs on their overall corporate costs, the study showed. Half of those said healthcare is a “critical” concern. Ninety-seven percent said they are also concerned with the impact that healthcare costs are having on their employees, up nearly 20 percent from three years ago and nearly identical to last year. The results were consistent regardless of industry, employee size category or geographic region, UBA researchers found.
