Launch of national roadmap to reduce health disparities

Tomorrow, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will release a national roadmap to reduce health disparities along with a strategy for engaging communities across the country in this critically important work. HHS says the roadmap for reducing health and health care disparities is a comprehensive effort to address differences in health for racial, ethnic, and other underserved communities.

This is the culmination of several years of discussions and planning at the local, regional, state and national levels to identify objectives and strategies that will move us toward health equity in this country.

We urge you to join the HHS webcast about the roadmap scheduled for 10 a.m. April 8. For further information, email Caroline Shell NSSLaunchinfo@psava.com

In some states, there will also be local events to discuss the roadmap. The HHS Office of Minority Health lists “Regional Events” for details on discussions in your area. Additional events are also being scheduled. Please contact your state Office of Minority Health for a complete listing.

Thank you.
