Dear Fellow Hepatitis Advocate:
The National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR) and the Hepatitis Appropriations Partnership (HAP) invite you to attend the 2011 Viral Hepatitis Policy Strategy Meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 9 AM to 5 PM in Washington, DC. The purpose of the meeting is to bring together individuals, organizations and companies working in Washington, DC on viral hepatitis policy issues to forge a unified and concrete strategy to achieve our 2011 advocacy goals. The meeting will include comments from national stakeholders on challenges and opportunities for working with the new Congress, followed by a discussion of viral hepatitis advocacy priorities and goals for this year. The meeting will result in a list of action items and we may schedule additional conference calls and/or meetings to fully discuss and follow-up on each item.
For this meeting to be a success, we hope to have representation from all organizations and companies working in Washington, DC on viral hepatitis advocacy. More than one person per organization or company is welcome to attend, but should be well versed in viral hepatitis advocacy and policy at the federal level and come prepared to engage in a strategic discussion about a D.C. action plan. We may however need to limit the number of participants due to space constraints.
Attendees are also invited to participate in Hill visits on Thursday, February 24 and Friday, February 25. These visits will include meetings with offices of current hepatitis champions, Appropriators, and new Members of Congress.
Please RSVP to Colin Schwartz by e-mail or at 202.434.8005 by Friday, February 11, 2011 if you plan to attend. Please include the name, title, address, email of each attendee, and if you are interested in participating in Hill visits and on which day(s). The meeting location is not yet confirmed and we are finalizing the agenda. Once finalized, we will send the agenda to RSVP’d attendees.
Thank you for your continued dedication to advancing the viral hepatitis advocacy movement in the United States. We look forward to seeing you in Washington, DC on Wednesday, February 23! Please let us know if you have any questions.
