The Modern House Call for Women

This year Maria Shriver is hosting a groundbreaking event “The Modern House Call for Women” in Long Beach, California, for low-income women. This event is a comprehensive health, wellness, and financial services clinic all under one roof and available at no charge to women in need.

The “Modern House Call for Women” will provide free medical, dental, vision and wellness care for women to underserved women. The holistic event will include educational exhibits and counseling services provided by non-profit organizations and government agencies to encourage healthy lifestyles and preventive care.

  • Nutrition information and counseling

What: The Modern House Call for Women

When: Friday October 22 – Sunday October 24

Where: The Walter Pyramid at California State University, Long Beach

How to sign up: Attendance for the event will be on a first come, first serve basis. In order to attend, you must pick up a wristband prior to the event. Wristbands will serve as tickets for entry. Wristband distribution will take place on Sunday, October 17th at Long Beach City College, on Pacific Coast Highway (PCC Campus) at 1:00pm. No one will be allowed into the event without a wristband. Please note the different locations for the wristband distribution and the clinic itself.

  1. How’s this for health justice: I attended the MHCFW back in October, mainly for vision service–and still have not received my glasses! I went to pick them up Nov. 19th, and the person tried to “fit” my hard-plastic glasses by bending them! They broke, of course, and I was promised a replacement pair in the mail in a “couple of weeks”. Six MONTHS later–no glasses!
