During the January 26th LA Access to Health Coalition Meeting, Richard Figueroa from the office of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger provided a synopsis of California’s proposed 2010./11 budget via video conference. To educate the community about the 2010/11 proposed budget, through the LA Access CAA Network, we will convene the first three days in March; the meetings will be held at the Sun Valley School Based Health Center, St. Mary’s Hospital in Long Beach and Citrus Valley Health Partners in West Covina.
Tentative agenda items are:
* An overview of the 2010/11 budget as it relates to the health of the families
* Opportunities for small group discussions about the budget impact on families
* A space to share advocacy strategies developed in small groups
* A follow up plan to ensure on going conversations and action
We will make available advocacy tools and examples of lessons learned from fellow CAAs. Although this is primarily a CAA event, you may invite an individual or individuals from your enrollment site that may benefit from the meeting and is able to share the message with other community members. To sign up for one of the meetings you will need to complete the attached RSVP form and email or fax to Shelia Claverie at 323.295.9467 or firstname.lastname@example.org by February 25th You may include the names of the non CAAs who are attending on your RSVP form.
