As you may know, the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking (CAST) is organizing a public awareness campaign “From Slavery to Freedom” which will be launched this coming Monday, January 11th at 11am at the Museum of Tolerance (MOT). For the launch, we will hold a joint press conference to raise awareness of slavery and trafficking in and outside of our borders. GTIP Ambassador Luis DeBaca and Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez will be joining us from Washington DC to talk about the Administration’s commitment to the issue. At the State level, CALEMA out of the Governor’s Office will also make its formal announcement of its new grant program to support all of the taskforces in California – including the LA Metro Taskforce.
It would be a great honor to have all of you join us for this press event.
Many of you have made such a difference in the lives of our clients, many of whom will be there to help us make this important call to action to end slavery. This important announcement also follows on the heels of the recent Presidential Proclamation naming January as National Prevention Month to End Slavery and Trafficking. I hope you will join us for the many events that will comprise the “From Slavery to Freedom” awareness campaign. Over 25 events will take place from January 11th (National Awareness Day for Human Trafficking) through February 12th (Lincoln’s Birthday) so make sure to visit the CAST website to learn more about our campaign.
Please view the attached final invitation of our event. We hope you can stand with us – like you have for so long – in launching this campaign to the public.
*Please be advised that you must RSVP for the January 11th Press Event Conference at the Museum of Tolerance (MOT). MOT has strict security measures and only people whose names are on the RSVP list will be allowed to access the event.
Please RSVP at email@example.com.
