Dear Community Member:
Leadership Development in Interethnic Relations (LDIR) is excited to announce the launch of our new training series, LDIRs in Health: Facilitation for Social Change! This training is a great opportunity to build communication and facilitation skills, strengthen collaboration opportunities, and deepen analysis and awareness of the intersection of social justice and health issues.
As you may know, the LDIR program strives to support and challenge individuals to broaden their notion of community health while working in multicultural collaborations. We have an 18 year history within Los Angeles and for the past five years, we’ve been working within the health sector. We believe strongly that community health issues are closely tied to social justice issues.
To that end, we are looking for a diverse group of 30 adults (ages 18 and over) who are connected to community and health issues in Los Angeles County to participate in our upcoming Facilitation for Social Change training series. The goal of the training is to bring together a diverse cross-section of the health community to enhance their skills in self-reflective leadership, coalition building, and facilitation. To gain more details, please see the attached Application, Program Description, and Curriculum Schedule. The Application is also accessible online at: http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dDdKakpwdmpuSThMaTNZNmNCVFltb0E6MA We hope you will share the attached outreach materials with your colleagues and networks.
LDIR staff is also available to make presentations about the Facilitation for Social Change training to groups or organizations that may have interested members. Please contact the Application Info Line to set up a presentation!
