What: A press conference by Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Californians to push for budget solutions that will increase revenue needed to preserve vital services

Why: In his recent recommendations to close California’s $24.3 billion deficit, Governor Schwarzenegger proposes to eliminate assistance to seniors, healthcare for children and other lifeline services to millions of Californians. Asians and Pacific Islanders will gather to reject the unacceptable cuts proposed to critical programs and urge state leaders to make moral decisions that protect the health of our communities, raise revenue and strengthen our economy.
